{"id":3,"date":"2026-08-13T11:30:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T11:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/3.253.0.178\/?page_id=3"},"modified":"2026-08-13T12:18:55","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T12:18:55","slug":"privacy-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/3.253.0.178\/index.php\/privacy-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Project is the for Bincom Tech create as a Project by olayenikan Michael Devops\/Cloud Apprecntice for the Acedemy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I recently completed a hands-on <strong>Cloud\/DevOps infrastructure project<\/strong> where I deployed a working WordPress application on an AWS virtual machine and documented the entire process as a portfolio project.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal was not just to \u201cinstall WordPress,\u201d but to understand the infrastructure behind a real web application and troubleshoot problems the way a Cloud or DevOps Engineer would.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what I worked on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launched and configured an <strong>AWS EC2 Ubuntu Linux server<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connected securely to the server using <strong>SSH key-based authentication<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configured <strong>AWS Security Groups<\/strong> for SSH, HTTP, and HTTPS traffic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installed and configured <strong>Apache<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installed <strong>PHP and required WordPress extensions<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installed and configured <strong>MySQL<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Created the WordPress database and application user<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installed and deployed <strong>WordPress<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Published the application through the EC2 public endpoint<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Used Linux commands to inspect memory, disk space, network interfaces, listening ports, and running services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Used <code>systemctl<\/code> to manage and troubleshoot Linux services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Documented the deployment on <strong>GitHub<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most valuable parts of the project was troubleshooting a real infrastructure issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During MySQL startup, the service repeatedly failed with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>Result: oom-kill<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After investigating with <code>systemctl<\/code> and <code>free -h<\/code>, I discovered that the EC2 instance had approximately 1 GB of RAM and no swap configured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than simply reinstalling MySQL, I diagnosed the root cause and created a <strong>2 GB Linux swap file<\/strong> using:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>fallocate<\/code> \u2192 <code>chmod<\/code> \u2192 <code>mkswap<\/code> \u2192 <code>swapon<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I then configured the swap to persist across reboots through <code>\/etc\/fstab<\/code>, cleared the failed systemd state, and restarted MySQL successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That troubleshooting experience helped reinforce an important lesson:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deploying infrastructure is only one part of DevOps. Understanding why a service failed, identifying the root cause, applying the right fix, and documenting the incident is equally important.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also structured the project as a proper GitHub portfolio repository containing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Architecture documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deployment guide<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Troubleshooting documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bash automation scripts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Server health-check script<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Terraform starter configuration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GitHub Actions Terraform validation workflow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Screenshot\/documentation structure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project gave me practical experience across:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AWS EC2 | Linux | Ubuntu | SSH | Networking | Security Groups | Apache | PHP | MySQL | WordPress | Bash | Git | GitHub | Terraform | GitHub Actions | Infrastructure Troubleshooting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Live deployment:<br><a href=\"http:\/\/3.253.0.178\/\">http:\/\/3.253.0.178\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, I\u2019ll be improving the infrastructure with <strong>HTTPS, a custom domain, monitoring with CloudWatch, automated backups, server hardening, and full Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Projects like this are helping me move beyond learning individual tools and understand how <strong>Cloud, DevOps, Linux, networking, security, and application infrastructure work together as one system.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">#DevOps #CloudEngineering #AWS #Linux #Infrastructure #Terraform #GitHubActions #WordPress #CloudComputing #SystemAdministration<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently completed a hands-on Cloud\/DevOps infrastructure project where I deployed a working WordPress application on an AWS virtual machine and documented the entire process as a portfolio project.
